TCD ASIA Makes its Grand Debut
at TOKYO AUTO SALON 2026
TCD ASIA celebrated its first-ever appearance at Japan's largest custom car event, TOKYO AUTO SALON 2026. Taking center stage was the All New Hilux, fresh from its November world premiere in Thailand. Specially customized for this event, the model captivated crowds and showcased TCD ASIA's unique vision for the future of automotive styling.
"This exhibition was a great opportunity to bring our craftsmanship directly to the Japanese market. The feedback we received is a roadmap for our next chapter. Depending on the response, we look forward to collaborating with TCD Japan to explore even more exciting possibilities."
— Mr. Hiromu Ishizawa, President of TCD ASIA
Refined in Harsh Environments,
Proven by Real-World Use
"In Thailand, road conditions are harsher than in Japan, the hurdle for the durability required of accessories naturally becomes higher. The knowledge and insights gained from motorsport activities, including rally racing, are fully reflected in our product development. Take a skid plate mounted under the floor, for example; we thoroughly anticipate how it will actually be used and pursue a design that will neither rust nor break. Due to cost constraints and compliance with various countries' regulations, there are inevitably parts of the base vehicle where we 'want to do something but can't'. Our items compensate for those limitations and make 'edgy specifications' a reality. We also receive feedback from users saying, 'The quality is good and it's hard to break,' and 'It's easy to install."
— Mr. Takuma Yamaguchi, Designer Manager"The quality gap between Japan and Thailand has effectively vanished. We take immense pride in delivering the premium standards that customers worldwide expect from the TCD brand."
— Mr. Hiromu Ishizawa, President of TCD ASIA
Co-creating Global Models with TCD ASIA
Satoki Oya, Toyota Motor Corporation's Chief Engineer overseeing the entire IMV series, also attended the exhibition. He stated, "Allowing Japanese customers to experience the unique identity and lifestyle of the new Hilux, enhanced by custom accessories, is highly significant for our vehicle development."
Overseeing the development of this new Hilux is Regional Chief Engineer Anyarat Sutthibenjakul. In Thailand, pickup trucks are deeply rooted in daily life — a culture she has grown up with since childhood. This background was fully leveraged in the development of this model.
"Our development focused on three core areas: 'regulatory compliance' such as fuel efficiency and emissions, 'safety' to achieve a 5-star vehicle assessment rating, and 'product appeal' through design updates and suspension refinements. However, since it is a model distributed across 195 countries, it must also accommodate a diverse range of needs. While the base vehicle ensures fundamental performance, TCD ASIA's collaboration was essential to expand its capabilities for outdoor and adventure activities. We engaged in discussions from the early stages of development, working together to build this vehicle while incorporating their diverse proposals."
TCD ASIA's role extends beyond merely manufacturing and selling accessories; their insights from product development and user feedback actively contribute to the creation of future vehicles. With the new Hilux launching soon in Japan, we are excited to see how the vehicle's appeal, combined with TCD ASIA's items, will resonate in the Japanese market. Please stay tuned for future developments.
